Description
The model 265 features a lead loaded platter constructed from
solid hardwood. Hardwood sounds dramaticly better than any other
platter material we have heard. The improvements are across the board.
Detail, smoothness, warmth, pace, clarity, you name it and hardwood does it
better. The musical beauty delivered by this turntable must be heard to be
appreciated. This radical all hardwood construction offers a level of
musicality that we believe is simply without peer.

To insure dimensional stability of the wood platter we developed
a complex process that includes the "Wood Epoxy Saturation Technique" (WEST)
commonly used in boat construction. The platter core is constructed from
many small pieces of jatoba, each saturated with epoxy and joined in a complex
matrix. Jatoba is a dense hardwood with superior dimensional stability.
The resulting matrix of jatoba joined with epoxy forms a platter core with
excellent stability. This stable core is then encased with solid cocobolo,
forming an additional vapor barrier. The assembly is then precision machined
on CNC lathes and then coated with rugged, moisture resistant epoxy finish.
